WASHINGTON — Rep. Ilhan Omar has been reimbursed more than nearly all of her colleagues through a new congressional policy allowing members of Congress to expense some of the costs of housing, meals and other incidentals.
A Washington Post analysis of the Statement of Disbursements, a quarterly public report of receipts and expenditures for the U.S. House of Representatives, determined Omar, D-5th District, was reimbursed $40,092 last year for lodging and meals while she was on official business in Washington, D.C., and her Minneapolis-based district.
