Bernie Sanders joins AOC as Biden’s biggest backers

Traditionally, the Democratic Party is divided between the corporate centrists and the progressive activists. For years, the liberal wing of the party, represented by the venerable Bernie Sanders and the youthful Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has been on the opposite side of the left-wing ideological divide from Biden — a man ripped by progressives as a shill for the elites and other vested interests.

Then, right after Biden’s less-than-hoped-for performance in the first presidential debate, AOC bucked expectations by casting her lot with the presumptive candidate.
