Harris earns enough votes in virtual roll call to clinch nomination: DNC chair

The virtual roll call began Thursday morning but will not officially end until Monday evening.

Vice President Kamala Harris has earned the support of a majority of delegates in the Democratic National Committee’s virtual roll call and will be the party’s nominee in November.

“I am so proud to confirm that Vice President Harris has earned more than a majority of votes from all convention delegates and will be the nominee of Democratic Party following the close of voting on Monday,” DNC Chair Jaime Harrison said in a statement.
